Thankful for New Orleans – Day 6

Day 6 – Interesting People

My topic for Day 6, interesting people of New Orleans, was an easy choice.  It seems that everywhere I turn in New Orleans, I am met by someone who could probably entertain me with some pretty colorful stories. While other cities feel the need to remind us of just how weird they are, New Orleans just quietly is. Or maybe it isn’t, because in New Orleans nothing seems completely out of the ordinary.

The  difficult part of this post was deciding which unique character to feature. I decided to go with this musician because of his matter-of-fact demeanor as he made his way down the street. He wasn’t in the French Quarter. He didn’t pose for me and he wasn’t seeking my attention. He wasn’t attempting to gain an audience or earn tips. He was simply walking down a quiet Marigny street, sporting a fake beard and strumming his guitar. I discreetly took the photo, and honestly, I’m not even certain he knew I was there. This, to me, is New Orleans, and I am so thankful for her idiosyncrasies.
